Massive Mexico Earthquake Kills over 61 People

Reports say over 61 people have died in Mexico after a massive earthquake (of 8.1 Richter magnitude scale) hit southern Pacific coast of the country just before Thursday midnight (local time). Epicenter of the earthquake is reported to be 100 miles west of Chiapas state. Most of the reported deaths took place in neighboring states surrounding the epicenter. 45 people have died in Oaxaca, 12 died in Chiapas and 3 in Tabasco. Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto conveyed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. At least 20 aftershock tremors (of 4.0 or greater magnitude) have been recorded till now. US Geological Survey has warned of a likely 7.2 magnitude aftershock tremor.
