August 4 , 2020
The Middle East witnesses hottest temperatures on record up to 51°C amid Coronavirus and upcoming Muslim celebration of Eid-al-Adha. As the temperature reached 50°C, residents are fighting for electricity shortages and a lack of essential goods. Protests are happening in Baghdad, Iraq's capital for the basic amenities where two people lost lives, and 11 were injured. The temperature of Kuwait was also more or less the same, reaching heights of 51°C last Friday. Further, several countries across the region are re-imposing lockdown measures to restrict the spread of Coronavirus, after a recent rise in numbers in June in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
