Man's year at sea could be a true story
February 5 , 2014
A man reached the Marshal Islands last week and claimed to have spent 13 months at sea, surviving on turtles, birds, fish and rainwater.
The AP notes that his story could be one of the greatest stories of survival given that it is true.
Many observed that Jose Salvador Alvarenga was found in a weak condition but he appeared to be healthy in general. However, experts have mentioned that it's possible his story is true and two fisherman did indeed go missing in 2012. Several other details shared by the Guardian provide further credibility to Alvarenga's story.
