Man stitches his leg and grabs beer after shark bite

  • A New Zealand man wasn't freaked out after discovering that he was bit by a seven-gill shark. instead, "Bugger, now I have to try and get this thing off my leg" was his first thought.

The 24-year-old doctor James Grant said he thought it was one of his friends at first and then "got a bit of a shock." He stabbed the shark with a knife in his hand and saw deep bite marks after coming out of the water.

The doctor had a first aid kit was was able to sew himself before putting on a bandage and heading to a pub. He later got stitched properly from others.

"It would have been great if I had killed it because there was a fishing competition on," he said.
