Man replaces food with beer for 40 days

  • A Canadian man is replacing beer with food for Lent. The 33-year-old Chris Schryer has decided to stay away from food and drink low-calorie brew called dopplebock instead. Reports suggest that he is also taking juice, water and tea in order to stay sober but it is the beer that's keeping him alive.

"Without being dramatic, it definitely is not fun; it's challenging," he said. "Every meal time there's challenge."

Schryer finishes a bottle for each meal and explained that he considers Lent as a time for spiritual "training."

"Drinking all day is not fun and games," he said.
