Malaysia floods: Over 160,000 people forced to evacuate
December 29 , 2014
Over 160,000 people in Malaysia were forced to evacuate their homes after the country witnessed its worst flood in decades. Earlier, the reports revealed that at least five people were killed in the floods along the country's east coast. Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak had pledged additional $142 million for the victims. Kelantan is one of the worst-hit areas and it continues to remain cut off from electricity. Disappointed with the slow progress of the government's relief effort, the locals have started taking measures on their own.
