Malaysia Airlines flight MH17: Australia seeks UN backing for international tribunal
July 14 , 2015
The Australian government has urged the UN security council to support the setting up of an international tribunal for prosecuting those suspected of shooting down Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in Ukraine in 2014.
But Russia is opposed to the move and could use its veto to block the proposal in case it is put to vote.
Pro-Russia rebels in eastern Ukraine have been accused of shooting down the Malaysia Airlines plane.
