'Major escalation' in rocket fire if demands not met: Hamas
August 10 , 2014
There could be a “major escalation” in rocket fire against Israel if the demands of Palestinians are not met, Hamas has said.
Unless the demands for lifting of the Israeli blockade on Gaza and releasing 100 prisoners being held by Israel are not met, “our defensive measures will be intensified”, Hamas deputy information minister Ihab al-Ghussein said.
The renewed fighting after the three-day ceasefire expired has continued, with Israeli air strikes killing nine Palestinians, and rockets fired into Israel from Gaza.
