January 16 , 2015
Chinese authorities have confirmed that Ma Jian, a top intelligence chief, is being probed for corruption, the latest high-ranking official targeted in a crackdown on corrupt party members, according to media reports.
Ma, the vice-minister in the Ministry of State Security, is suspected of “serious violations,” the Communist Party’s discipline wing has said. In most such cases, a conviction is the end result.
In recent months, senior officials, including Zhou Yongkang and Zhang Kunsheng have been probed for corruption.
