  • Obama Describes the Hate Crime as 'Despicable'

    January 6, 2017: The torture of a mentally disabled man in Chicago by four people which was live-streamed on Facebook has been described as despicable hate crime by President Barack Obama.

    Among the four, Jordan Hill, Brittany Covington and Tesfaye Cooper, are 18 and Tanishia Covington is 24. All the four, accused of aggravated battery with a weapon, are due in court on Friday.


    Live-streamed Attack: Chicago Police Held 4

    January 5, 2017: As per reports, Chicago police has arrested four people today over a video live-streamed on Facebook in which they assaulted a gagged man.

    According to police, the assaulted man has special needs. The assailants made derogatory statements against President-elect Donald Trump and white people. Police said the video was disturbing and described it as a sickening hate crime.

    Reports say that the white victim is an acquaintance of one of the assailants and may be he was abducted for 48 hours before the assault. Investigation is still going on to find out if any hate crime had taken place.
