May 30 , 2015
At least eight people were killed and eight others wounded in a rocket attack on a residential area in eastern Libya’s Benghazi city, reports said.
According to Libyan military officials, Islamist fighters carried out the attack. Fighting to take control of Benghazi, Libya’s second-biggest city, has been going on for several months.
An army commander claimed that the Islamist factions had launched a “revenge” attack after suffering “big losses.”
Meanwhile, militants believed to be affiliated to the Islamic State targeted a checkpost near Derna, killing two soldiers.
