Level of destruction in Gaza 'unprecedented', says UN
August 12 , 2014
The United Nations has described the level of destruction in Gaza after a month of fighting and Israeli attacks as “unprecedented.”
With the latest ceasefire between Israel and Hamas holding, thousands of Palestinians living in Gaza are going back to their homes.
According to some estimates, one in every four or five houses in the city may have suffered damage. Beit Hanoun in the north is one of the worst hit areas, with a majority of the houses uninhabitable here, reports said.
