Lawsuit asks San Diego to clean La Jolla neighborhood
December 28 , 2013
The La Jolla neighborhood in San Diego is a great place to go watch sea lions. However, the city is being sued over the unpleasant smell due to the sea lion and bird poop in the region.
Courthouse News reported that a newly formed group called Citizens For Odor Nuisance Abatement filed a suit with the city's Supreme Court and asked for a cleanup. The lawsuit blames the city for erecting a fence along La Jolla Cove, "preventing the public from accessing the rocks.. (which) gradually led to a buildup of excrement."
Reports suggest that the group is only looking to get the attention of the city instead of compensation. A rep for the interim mayor mentioned that they are currently looking to solve the odor issue.
