Latin America tour: Pope Francis seeks more inclusive church
July 7 , 2015
Pope Francis has asked people to back his efforts in making the Church more inclusive when bishops from across the world come to the Vatican later this year.
The Pope was addressing some 800,000 people in Ecuador, his first stop on a seven-day tour to Latin America.
The family will be in the focus during October’s Vatican gathering. The Church’s approach to homosexual and divorced Catholics is likely to be on the agenda too.
After Ecuador, the pope will head to Bolivia and Paraguay, some of the poorest countries of the continent.
