Tens of thousands of marchers took to the streets across Britain to protest against the David Cameron government’s plans to extend austerity measures for another five years.
The biggest rally was held in capital London, with anywhere between 80,000 and 155,000 people in attendance, according to various estimates. Thousands rallied in Glasgow as well.
Carrying banners such as “End Austerity Now”, the marchers spoke out against public sector and welfare cuts and the privatization of the health service.
