Landslide in Nepal, 30 killed

At least 30 people died in a landslide in Nepal. The landslide, which has buried six villages in the mountainous northeast of Nepal, was triggered by continuous rains. Media reports quoted Surendra Bhattarai, Acting Chief District Officer, saying that the landslide struck villages in Taplejung district at night. The authorities are sending a helicopter in aid of the injured people. Ten people have sustained serious injuries while 12 are reported to be missing.
