Kofi Annan Passes away at 80

  • According to the international diplomats, the former UN secretary-general, Kofi Annan, has passed away at the age of 80. Highly revered, he was the 1st black from Africa to become the world's top diplomat. He served 2 terms between the years 1997 and 2006. 

    He has done a lot of humanitarian work in his lifetime and even won a Nobel Peace Prize for that. Serving as the UN special envoy, he also participated in finding the peaceful solutions for the conflicts in Syria. During his tenure, he also saw the HIV/Aids pandemic and the Iraq War.
