'King Richard III suffered fatal blows to skull'
September 17 , 2014
England’s King Richard III suffered 11 injuries, which caused his death, a new study by The Lancet says.
Three of the injuries were potentially fatal, including two to the skull and one pelvis injury, researchers say, and the skull injuries eventually killed him.
The 15th century monarch, who ruled for only two years, died at the age of 32 in the battle at Bosworth Field. His death is considered to mark the end of the Middle Ages in the country.
