Kids may begin doing chores in Spain
April 30 , 2014
If your children are refusing to do housework, you may want to move to Spain.
Reports suggest that the country's parliament approved a bill, which would make it compulsory for children under the age of 18 to participate in family life and show respect for their siblings and parents. Moreover, minors will also be expected to respect their teachers and will be legally bound to study.
The government hasn't yet outlines penalties for those who do not oblige but the bill doesn't appear to be an empty threat. The BBC notes that men who refused to share housework with their wives actually faced legal sanctions in Spain.
