Kidnapped Libyan representative to OPEC released

  • Samir Salem Kamal, the Libyan representative to Opec, was released over two weeks after he was kidnapped, media reports said.

    Kamal was kidnapped from the Libyan capital of Tripoli on January 15. According to his family, though he was in good health, the ordeal had shaken him up. It was not immediately clear who kidnapped him and for what.

    OPEC is an organization of 12 oil producers. Kamal has been representing Libya for two years.
