Kenyan air strike kills al-Shabab intelligence chief

  • The intelligence chief of al-Shabab, a militant Islamist group of Somalia, has been killed in a Kenyan air strike. Media reports quoted an army statement as saying that al-Shabab’s intelligence chief, Mohammed Karatey, and 10 other commanders of the militant group died in the air strike carried out in southern Somalia on February 8. However, the militant group has refuted claims of Karatey’s death.
