Kenya security minister killed in helicopter crash

Kenyan Internal Security Minister George Saitoti has been killed in a helicopter crash.
According to government officials, Saitoti and his deputy, Orwa Ojode, died when the aircraft crashed west of the capital Nairobi, bursting into flames as it hit the ground.
At least six people in total have been killed.
The cause of the crash is yet to be determined.
Saitoti, a former vice-president, was planning to run in the country’s forthcoming presidential polls.
Saitoti joined President Mwai Kibaki's National Alliance of Kenya in 2002.
An election date is expected to be announced over the course of the next coming weeks. Kibaki’s term ends in January 2013.
