Kenya on Edge before Tuesday Election

  • An unusual calm is prevailing in Kenya as the Kenyans are expecting violence no matter who wins the election, to be held on Tuesday. Owing to the history of political violence in Kenya and an expected close contest between the incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta and the opposition leader Raila Odinga, many Kenyans are not taking chances and fleeing their hometowns before the election. The country is on the edge after technology head of the IEBC (Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission), Chris Msando, was found dead, whose body was dumped in a forest after being tortured and strangled.
