John Key’s National party has returned to power in New Zealand after one of the most volatile election campaigns in the country’s history.
Labour, the main opposition party, lost badly, but the biggest mauling was received by the new Mana-Internet party, which had the backing of the controversial figure Kim Dotcom.
Prime minister Key said it was a victory “for the people, the policies, the unity and the vision” of the National party.
