John Kerry to meet officials in Kiev
March 3 , 2014
According to a senior administration official, Secretary of State John Kerry is expected to travel to Ukraine in order to meet government officials in Kiev.
The trip comes after the response of the US and other Western nations regarding Russia's military advance into Ukraine. Reports suggest that Kerry has proposed the possibility of issuing visa bans and freezing the assets in Russia.
"This is the red alert - this is not a threat, this is actually a declaration of war to my country," Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said. He mentioned that the country is on the verge of a disaster and asked the international community to offer their help.
