Japan Hit with 6.7-Magnitude Earthquake

  • Another natural calamity has struck Japan after a series of natural disasters like heatwaves, landslides, and floods which have tormented the country. A 6.7-magnitude earthquake, which lasted for a minute, hit Hokkaido, a northern island in the country, on Thursday. The earthquake also triggered landslides which have buried a huge number of houses. All public transport and flights are un-operational. Reportedly, at least 2 people are killed in the deadly disaster. Officials report that dozens of people are injured and roughly 20 people are missing. The rescue operation has been on with a number of helicopters rescuing people to safety.
