Japan: 20 passengers injured after South Korean plane skids off Hiroshima runway

  • At least 20 people suffered minor injuries after an Asiana Airlines passenger aircraft skidded off a runway at Japan’s Hiroshima airport while landing.

    The 81 passengers and crew on board evacuated the South Korean plane using emergency chutes.

    According to some reports, a wheel may have hit a localizer close to the runway. A part of the aircraft’s tail suffered damage.

    Japanese authorities are probing the causes of the incident, media reports said.
