Jailed journalists 'guided by devil', says court in Egypt
July 23 , 2014
An Egyptian court has said that “the devil guided” three al-Jazeera journalists, who were sent to jail last month for allegedly aiding the Muslim Brotherhood and spreading false news about the country.
While journalists Peter Greste and Mohamed Fadel Fahmy were sentenced to seven years in prison, Baher Mohamed got a 10-year term.
The court said that the defendants had taken “advantage of the noble profession of journalism” and turned it into a “profession aimed at falsifying the truth.”
