Italy: Venice Carnival has been Cut Short Due to Coronavirus

  • The Venice Carnival has been cut short due to Coronavirus Outbreak. Officials of the Veneto region said that the event would end later on Sunday i.e. two days earlier than scheduled. By far, Italy has the highest number of Coronavirus cases in Europe, with 157. Also, so far three people have died. A strict quarantine restrictions have been imposed in two northern "hotspot" regions close to Milan and Venice. In Veneto and Lombardy, nearly 50,000 people cannot enter or leave several towns for next two weeks.
