Italian navy rescues 52 migrants in the Mediterranean

  • Around 52 migrants were rescued by the Italian Navy from a sinking rubber dinghy in the Mediterranean. However, around 50 people are still missing. According to media reports, the naval ship’s life rafts were able to reach only half of the 100 people on board the sinking vessel. Two migrants were rescued by a helicopter after they were spotted clinging to a floating barrel.
