ISRO Launches Heaviest Rocket

In a major development, ISRO, the Indian Space Research Organization, today launched its heaviest rocket, which was carrying a satellite. According to media reports, GSLV MkIII, the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark-III, carried into space the 3,136 kg GSAT-19 communications satellite. The communication satellite was launched over the island of Sriharikota, which is located in Andhra Pradesh.
