Israel PM agrees on coalition deal
May 8 , 2012
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has unexpectedly abandoned plans to hold an early general election after agreeing to form a new coalition cabinet.
In a surprise move, Netanyahu’s Likud part will be joined by the opposition Kadima party.
Media reports suggest Kadima will back Netanyahu in return for changes to the Tal Law, which allows ultra religious Jews to opt out of military conscriptions.
