Israel: Man goes on stabbing spree at Jerusalem's gay pride march; six injured
July 31 , 2015
A knife-wielding man went on a stabbing spree during a gay pride march in Jerusalem in front of hundreds of horrified onlookers, injuring six people, one of them seriously.
The attacker was later identified as Yishai Schlissel, an ultra-Orthodox Jew who had recently been released from prison after serving a sentence for a similar stabbing rampage at a gay parade ten years ago.
Israel’s Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu described the attack as a “most serious incident”.
