Israel jails suspected Jewish militant under administrative detention orders
August 5 , 2015
Israel has jailed a suspected Jewish militant under the administrative detention orders without trial. The unusual move comes after the death of an 18-month-old Palestinian boy in an arson attack.
Mordechai Meyer, who is a resident of a West Bank Jewish settlement and suspected member of a Jewish militant group, was placed under six months administrative detention. Previously, only Palestinians have been jailed without trial, but the Israeli government has for the first time extended such orders to Jews.
