  • Suspected Islamist rebels on Sunday, August 31, targeted a security prison in Mogadishu in an attack that killed at least 12 people and injured more than 15.

Three guards and two civilians were also killed in the attack in the Somali capital, reports said.

H.E. Mustafa Duhulow, the country’s information minister, said the attack was foiled and seven militants were killed.
