Islamist militants seize two oil fields in Libya
March 4 , 2015
Two central Libyan oil fields have been seized by Islamist militants amid continuing unrest in the country, media reports said.
Guards manning the al-Mabruk and al-Bahi sites were forced to retreat after they ran out of ammunition.
The government based in Tobruk and recognized by the international community is fighting against its Tripoli-based rivals for control of the country. This instability has given an opportunity to Islamic militants to consolidate territory in Libya.
