Iran Plane Crash: All 66 aboard assumed dead

  • Sixty-six people are assumed to have been killed in a plane crash in Iran. The Aseman Airlines plane, which was en route from Tehran to the south-western city of Yasuj, came down near the city of Semirom in Isfahan province. There were sixty passengers, two security guards, two flight attendants and the pilot and co-pilot on board. No information could be obtained regarding the passengers. The rescue efforts are hampered due to fog and heavy snow. Emergency teams had to travel the site by land instead of the helicopter due to the bad weather.
