Indonesia: Volcanic eruption prompts closure of five airports
July 10 , 2015
A volcanic eruption in Indonesia has prompted authorities to shut five airports, including Denpasar airport in the popular tourist destination of Bali, reports said.
East Java’s Mount Raung has spewed ash into the air for several days, lowering visibility in some areas. Flights connecting Bali to Australia stayed cancelled for a second day.
The other airports affected by the ash are Lombok’s International Airport and Selaparang Airport; and East Java’s Blimbingsari and Notohadinegoro airports.
