Indonesia rejects Australia's offer to swap prisoners
March 5 , 2015
Indonesia rejected Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop's offer of swapping prisoners, which was aimed at saving the lives of two Australian men on death row.
Indonesian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the country had no law to provide for such an exchange.
On Wednesday, Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumara from the 'Bali Nine' drug-smuggling group were moved to another prison, where the execution is due to take place. With time running out for the duo, Australia was looking at “every avenue that might be available."
