Indian nurses in Iraq moved to unknown destination

  • Nurses from India who were trapped in a hospital in the militant-controlled city of Tikrit in Iraq have been moved to an undisclosed location.

The Sunni militant group Isis captured Tikrit in the past few weeks of fighting.

In a statement the Indian foreign ministry said that some of the estimated 46 nurses had “suffered minor injuries” on account of “an incident of glass breaking,” but there were no reports of major injury.
