Indian consulate attacked in Afghanistan

At least nine civilians, most of them being children were killed by three suicide bombers in an attack on the Indian consulate in an eastern Afghan city bordering near Pakistan.
Another 24 people, including a policeman were wounded as a result of the blast and all three attackers died as well. However, its yet unknown as to how many of them were killed by police fire. India's External Affairs Ministry spokesman Syed Akbaruddin said all Indian officials in the consulate were safe.
Taliban, Afghanistan's main insurgent group denied having anything to do with the attack.
The attack happened after the U.S. planned on closing its embassies on Sunday due to a serious security threat.
