India, China to sign economic deals as 'incursions' raise concerns

  • Asia’s two big powers India and China will sign important economic deals as Xi Jinping, the Chinese president, headed to Delhi after starting his India trip on Wednesday in Gujarat, the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

However, a border row has caused tensions, with Indian authorities saying hundreds of Chinese troops had violated India’s territorial integrity in the Ladakh region across the de facto boundary, according to media reports.

Modi reportedly raised the issue of incursions with Jinping.
