India accused Pakistan of attacking border posts
October 24 , 2013
India has accused Pakistan of attacking at least 50 border posts in India overnight in Kashmir. It referred to the firing as being the most serious violation of the ceasefire between the two countries since a decade.
One Indian guard was killed and six others were injured during the firing and about 100 civilians were taken near the frontier.
Military officials in Pakistan said the firing by Indian troops was "unprovoked" and ended up killing one of their soldiers as well as a civilian.
Although, the two sides have their own versions of the story, they both agree that the frequency of these attacks has increased since the prime ministers of both countries met in the U.S. last month and agreed that such tensions must reduce.
