International Monetary Fund (IMF) head Christine Lagarde has been placed under investigation in a political fraud case in France, as per media reports.
Lagarde was charged with “simple negligence” for her alleged role in a €400m payout to Bernard Tapie, a prominent businessman, when she was France’s finance minister.
She was quizzed in Paris at the court of justice. She later told the media that she would not resign as IMF chief and had not broken any law.
