ICC won't prosecute Israel over 2010 raid
November 7 , 2014
Israel will not be prosecuted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for the botched raid on a ship headed to Gaza in 2010 that led to the deaths of nine people, including eight Turks, media reports say.
An ICC prosecutor said though war crimes may have been committed, the “legal requirements” to open an investigation were not met and the “preliminary examination has been closed.”
Israeli commandos had raided a ship, which was part of a flotilla of activists headed to Gaza despite a blockade by Israel. An American national was among those killed in the raid.
