Houthi rebels target presidential home in Yemen
January 21 , 2015
The fighting in the Yemeni capital has taken a serious turn, with Shia Houthi rebels in Sanaa shelling the residence of the president on Tuesday, January 20, according to media reports.
President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi was inside the residence at the time, reports said.
Slamming the attack, the UN Security Council has called upon the rebels to respect the legitimate leaders of the country.
However, accusing Yemen’s leaders of corruption, Abdel Malek al-Houthi, the rebel leader, said the country had reached a “defining” moment.
