November 20 , 2014
Farc rebels and the Colombian government have reached an agreement over the conditions essential for the release of an army general and others, according to media reports.
Cuban and Norwegian mediators announced in Havana that the hostages were expected to be released soon. The agreement details have not been disclosed.
Five people, including Brigadier-General Ruben Dario Alzate were captured by the Farc guerrillas some days ago, which led to the suspension of peace negotiations between the two sides.
