Hong Kong ferry disaster: Captain convicted of manslaughter

The captain of a ferry that crashed into another boat in 2012, resulting in the death of 39 people, has been convicted of manslaughter in Hong Kong.
Lai Sai-ming, the captain of the Sea Smooth ferry which was involved in the collision, has also been held guilty of endangering other people's safety at sea.
Chow Chi-wai, the other boat’s captain, has been acquitted of manslaughter. But the Lamma IV captain has also been found guilty of endangering safety of others.
