Hong Kong chief executive offers talks to protesting students
October 3 , 2014
Pro-democracy demonstrations in Hong Kong have ebbed after chief executive Leung Chun-ying offered talks to representatives of protesting students.
Still, hundreds of protesters stayed put, saying they would back down only if there was evidence that the government was genuine about addressing their concerns.
However, leaders of the Occupy Central movement have called upon protesters to be mindful of the needs of citizens as well as government servants working in the offices they have been surrounding.
