Hong Kong: 20 injured in clashes between protesters and police
October 19 , 2014
At least 20 people were injured in a second night of clashes between the police and protesters in Hong Kong’s Mong Kok district.
The clashes started around midnight when police baton-charged a crowd of pro-democracy demonstrators on Nathan Road.
There is now uncertainty over talks which the government had offered student leaders some days ago.
Some protesters had to be carried away on stretchers. The police said they used “minimum force” after protesters “suddenly” tried to charge at them.
